2008 Osram Sylvania 5K Road Race
Head for the Hills, & Take Off Running in a
Charming Country Setting!
The Hillsborough Balloon Fest 5K Road Race, will kick off Friday, July 11, 2008
at approximately 6:30PM following the first sortie of balloon flights. This is a wonderful run and a
fabulous weekend long celebration!
The run starts at Grimes Field in Historic Hillsborough, New Hampshire and is
a USATF Certified 5k Course Sponsored by OSRAM SYLVANIA
After the race on Friday night, weather permitting, half dozen or more balloons will be
inflated at Grimes Field around dusk. Once fully inflated, the balloons will be lighted
from the inside, illuminating the darkening sky, a beautiful sight you
will talk about for years to come!
Awards will be presented at our post-race ceremony to the top
Male and Female runners in each age group as follows:
9-12, 13-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80+ with special prizes for our athletes 8 years old and under.
In addition, a special award will be given to the top Hillsborough resident
Sylvania employee finisher.

The course starts on Preston Street, turns left onto River Road, turns left on to Bridge Street (Route 149),
across bridge and turns left onto Mill Street. Then left onto Bear Hill Road, down to
the
turn-around point just after the crest of the hill. After the
turn-around return
back down Bear Hill Road, right onto Bridge Street (Route 149), over the bridge to the first right down
River Road. Next right back onto Preston Street and SPRINT to the FINISH!

Pre-Registration Fee is $10.00 and must be postmarked by July
1, 2008.
Race Day Registration is $15.00 from 4:30-6:00pm at Grimes
Field.
All runners will receive a super-cool T-shirt on the day of the race.
Proceeds generated from the road race and Balloon Fest provide major financial
support for the Hillsborough Fire Department, Hillsborough Lions Club and the Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce.
