Hillsborough's Home Town Parade
A Hillsborough tradition, the Hometown Parade starts at
noon on Sunday, July 13, 2008.
The route begins at the Hillsboro-Deering High School, proceeds the full length of School Street, turns
left on Main Street to Depot and Preston Streets, ending at Grimes Field.
The theme of the 2008 parade is "Celebrate Friends and Family"
The Hometown Parade is part of the Hillsborough Balloon Festival and Fair, a major fundraiser for the
Hillsborough Fire Department, The Hillsborough Lion's Club and the Hillsborough Chamber of
Commerce. The Parade brings
folks from all over the area for a weekend of great fun.
Hillsborough has great parades every year thanks to all who participate. This year's Parade will
hopefully be
even bigger and better.
After the parade, stay at Grimes Field for an old fashioned Firemen's Muster at 2 pm.
Many entries are needed for a
successful Parade which will bring out a spectacular crowd.
A vast array of fire fighting vehicles from various
communities will participate. Marching bands, antique cars, Miss New Hampshire, and a sea of
floats entered by
community organizations fill out the parade. The parade coordinators expect the 2008
parade to be bigger and
better than ever.
Prizes are awarded for entries in the float competition.
